Glasses lenses are the most common and accessible way to correct vision, and new myopia control designs can also slow the progression of myopia in many children with different prescriptions.

Every child with myopia needs glasses, whether for full-time use or as a backup to contact lenses. Myopia control lenses have advanced beyond earlier progressive addition or bifocal designs, which had limited effectiveness. Today’s lenses use tiny lenslets, diffusers, or other optical features built into single vision lenses to provide stronger myopia control. Since results can vary between designs, full-time wear is recommended for the best outcomes.
