Ortho-k for myopia control.
Orthokeratology (ortho-k) has been shown to effectively slow myopia progression in children with low, moderate, and high myopia, as well as in those with moderate-to-high astigmatism. It is the only treatment proven to slow eye growth in cases where one eye has more myopia than the other (monocular or anisometropic myopia). Recent research also suggests ortho-k may work even better when combined with low-dose atropine (0.01%) or when the treatment zone size is adjusted.
Successful ortho-k requires specialized training, topography equipment, and close follow-up care from an eye care professional.
