Myopia management products listed by Myopia Profile have been specifically designed for myopia control or myopia management in children, and have some form of regulatory approval or marking for this form of use. They also have randomized controlled trial research data supporting their efficacy, unless otherwise noted. MiYOSMART iQ
MiYOSMART iQ is the latest generation of MiYOSMART spectacle lenses. It builds on DIMS (Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments) technology, which is supported by more than 150 scientific publications.
MiYOSMART iQ features a new DIMS Triple Enhanced Design (TED). It includes three changes designed to improve myopia control in children.
First, the treatment segments are placed closer to the centre of the lens. This helps provide a more consistent treatment signal to the retina. Second, the power of each segment has increased from +3.5 D to +4.5 D, creating a stronger signal to slow myopia. Third, more treatment segments have been added to cover a wider area of the lens, which helps maintain the treatment effect when larger frames are worn.
MiYOSMART
The MiYOSMART spectacle lens is a first-line option for correcting myopia and slowing its progression in children. A two-year clinical trial showed strong results and good acceptance. Data for up to six years of wear in children has been published, as well as eight-year data. MiYOSMART is considered one of the most effective myopia control spectacle lens designs, performing better than older options such as progressive addition and bifocal lenses.
