ACUVUE Abiliti 1-Day is the first daily disposable contact lens specifically developed by Johnson & Johnson Vision for the correction of near-sightedness (myopia) as well as slowing the progression (i.e. worsening) of myopia in children. It forms part of the ACUVUE Abiliti myopia management portfolio, which also includes ACUVUE Abiliti Overnight Therapeutic Lenses, an orthokeratology option designed for overnight wear.

Abiliti 1-Day lenses use RingBoost technology, which results in a unique optical design. This allows the lens to deliver a strong signal for controlling myopia, while maintaining clear and comfortable vision for a child’s everyday activities. Initial clinical trial results suggest promising potential as a myopia control treatment when worn as recommended.1

ACUVUE Abiliti 1-Day contact lenses differ significantly from standard single vision contact lenses. While single vision lenses provide effective vision correction, they do not help slow the progression of myopia in any way.

Abiliti 1-Day lenses use a specialized optical design with RingBoost technology, which controls how light enters the eye. A portion of the light is focused directly on the retina – the light-sensing tissue at the back of the eye – to provide vision correction for myopia.
